I don't know if I even need to say it, but this last week was a busy one. We had grandma Julie over for most of the week, which was a huge help to us. She kept things under control while Mike went back to work. On Monday Grandma, Mike, and the kids went hiking up Bell Canyon to pick Serviceberries. It was a total bust this year. We got 6 berries total, so even though the hike was fun we didn't end up making anything afterward. During Mike's paternity leave he scheduled Gideon's surgery, so on Tuesday he took the day off to get the surgery done. The surgeon was apparently running super late, because the surgery took all day and though they left at 10:30AM they finally got home at 6:30PM (the surgery itself took about half an hour). Gideon was very brave, and the surgery went without any real complications, so hopefully his recovery is quick, and he is back to normal pretty soon. On Monday, Mike started his new job. He is now working at DealerTrack - a company that offers services to car dealers. So far he has helped plan for the next iteration, set up his computer, and written a small website using Angular 4 and Firebase. Dealertrack is only 3 miles from the our house, and Mike found out on Friday that they have a place to charge his car, so he is pretty happy with the new job so far. On Tuesday Mike went to BGDG, and played an Oregon trail game. It had a cool core mechanic, but too too long, and was too complex and random for what it was. Next week Mike is going to bring his own game, which should hopefully be fun. On Wednesday, Alison went to writers group, and heard a lecture on creating magic systems. It was a little bit interesting, but the info was very basic. Hopefully the next time that she goes, it s more fun. Friday we went to the Little Miamaid at the OBT. I didn't post for on Monday first time in a long time. We have been a bit busy, but not that busy. For one thing, 1800Contacts is being bought out by an investment firm. People don't really seem to be too worried about it (apparently this happens all of the time with 1800Contacts), so I am following suit and assuming that it is business as usual. Sara and Rea have both been cleaning up the house since Alison is still feeling pretty drained of energy. They have been getting money to spend for their efforts (though Sara doesn't have any idea what to do with it). They both love Herd your Horses now, so it is a really popular game. We have two tapes of Veggitales songs, and Sara loves them so much that we listen to them at least twice a day. Mommy is getting sick of them, but what can you do?
