Not quite the Teen Girl Squad

On Tuesday Alison had a bunch of teen kids come over to do a discussion group. There are two other kids besides Rea, and Rea's friend Marissa Dalyai is going to start coming next week. They're discussing history primary sources, American literature, and doing a high school Biology course together. The first week went pretty well, and Alison is excited about it.

On Wednesday all of the kids went to the dentist in order to get their check up. Timothy had a cavity which is pretty unusual for him. They were able to get him in to fix it on thursday, so it was a pretty fast turn around.

Also on Wednesday Grandpa Mike was chopping down the tree in his front yard, and so on Thursday we helped him clean up all of the branches leaves and shavings that he produced in the chopping down event. Gideon helped the entire time and was very helpful. Timmy, Rea and Elsa both helped for a little while and Sara helped from the time that she got off of school until the time that it was done and she was also very helpful.

This week Grandma Sheila also got foot surgery, so we have been trying to prevent her from doing work around the house by stealing it from her every time that she starts working on something. This is rather difficult for her because she likes to always be doing something.

James Waters had his birthday party on Friday and we all were invited over, so we went over to the Water's house and did a puzzle and ate some pizza and celebrated his birthday with him.

Mike's classes started again this Saturday, so he spent some time this week getting ready for the new semester. It is always fun for him to have new students to work with.

This week we have been busily trying to get ready for christmas. We have all of the presents that we need and Alison did all of the shopping, so really we're pretty close now. On Wednesday Mike was able to use some volunteer time off to go to The cannery at welfare square and help them can applesauce. He ended up canning about 15,000 pounds of applesauce. It was good, and he appreciates that guys work pays him for it. On Wednesday we all went to the church because the activity dudes and young women (and men) were having a caroling activity. We had a fun time going around and singing and then ate cookies and drink hot taco after. Gideon and Elsa ended up going home early with Alison. Thursday after dropping the kids off at Grandma Julie's house Alison went all over the entire valley to every store that exists in order to buy things in preparation for Christmas. In which we blacken someone's name

Last Sunday after we wrote our blog post Rea received her patriarchal blessing. The patriarch was not far away from our home, and she received a nice blessing. The patriarch's wife acted as a stenographer, and they delivered a text version of it to our house a few days ago, so she now can read it when she wants to. The Dalyias came over on Monday and the kids all played. They had a lot of fun and apparently ate a lot of mints as well. Wednesday was a very busy day. In the morning Alison and the kids went to the Poulson's house and then Mike took Sara to her acting class. Next, Rea went to the temple open house, and Alison took the kids to her presidency meeting with her, and then Mike took Sara back to her activity and grabbed the kids. Here's hoping that we can avoid that busy a day for at least a few weeks. Gideon had a lot of fun at Sullivan's birthday party on Thursday. The start of morels - 2018

Another week has passed. Alison got a new bike this week. She is trying to figure out how to bike around four kids, and was hoping that having a bike with a higher seat would allow her to attach a trail-a-bike to it, which would mean that she could carry two kids along behind her on her bike. It doesn't seem like it is going to work, however, and she might end up just hauling the kids in the bike trailer like in previous years. Wednesday was Rea's date night. She chose to have a fire, read books, and have a dessert. It was fun. This week Rea and Sara went to theater camp to prepare for a play that they put on on Saturday. It was The ugly duckling. They said their lines clearly, and spoke toward the audience most of the time. They did very well. At the same time, Alison, Timmy, and Gideon waited outside for them, and got good naps.
