We made it through another week ... Barely

The first thing that I recall was on Tuesday night Alison was feeling absolutely awful and we took her in to the emergency room and found out that she had a kidney stone. She was discharged at 1 AM and full of enough pain killers she was fine on Wednesday. 

Thursday at 3 am she woke up again and felt enough pain that she needed to be taken back to the hospital. They finally found a medicine that worked on her (either that or the kidney stone passed) so we went home at 1 PM

On Saturday we went to see Dracula vs Henry Botter at the OBT. It was super fun. We need to buy tickets for Christmas Carol II, the next play they are putting on

Saturday evening we went to the Ward's chili cook-off. The chili was excellent and we had a fun time.

We then remembered on the way home from the chili cook-off that Alison and Mike had both been asked to give talks on sunday, and with all of the sickness we totally forgot about it, so we spent the rest of the evening and some of the morning preparing talks. The talks ended up being reasonably well received, so I guess that's a blessing. 

Rea has also been making Halloween costumes for herself, and they look pretty amazing. Her sewing skills are very good and she has a good knack for putting together things that look good.

This week we have been busily trying to get ready for christmas. We have all of the presents that we need and Alison did all of the shopping, so really we're pretty close now. On Wednesday Mike was able to use some volunteer time off to go to The cannery at welfare square and help them can applesauce. He ended up canning about 15,000 pounds of applesauce. It was good, and he appreciates that guys work pays him for it. On Wednesday we all went to the church because the activity dudes and young women (and men) were having a caroling activity. We had a fun time going around and singing and then ate cookies and drink hot taco after. Gideon and Elsa ended up going home early with Alison. Thursday after dropping the kids off at Grandma Julie's house Alison went all over the entire valley to every store that exists in order to buy things in preparation for Christmas. In which we blacken someone's name

Last Sunday after we wrote our blog post Rea received her patriarchal blessing. The patriarch was not far away from our home, and she received a nice blessing. The patriarch's wife acted as a stenographer, and they delivered a text version of it to our house a few days ago, so she now can read it when she wants to. The Dalyias came over on Monday and the kids all played. They had a lot of fun and apparently ate a lot of mints as well. Wednesday was a very busy day. In the morning Alison and the kids went to the Poulson's house and then Mike took Sara to her acting class. Next, Rea went to the temple open house, and Alison took the kids to her presidency meeting with her, and then Mike took Sara back to her activity and grabbed the kids. Here's hoping that we can avoid that busy a day for at least a few weeks. Gideon had a lot of fun at Sullivan's birthday party on Thursday. They jumped on a trampoline, ate pie, played a lot of games, and ran around, so it sounds like it

The start of morels - 2018

Another week has passed. Alison got a new bike this week. She is trying to figure out how to bike around four kids, and was hoping that having a bike with a higher seat would allow her to attach a trail-a-bike to it, which would mean that she could carry two kids along behind her on her bike. It doesn't seem like it is going to work, however, and she might end up just hauling the kids in the bike trailer like in previous years. Wednesday was Rea's date night. She chose to have a fire, read books, and have a dessert. It was fun. This week Rea and Sara went to theater camp to prepare for a play that they put on on Saturday. It was The ugly duckling. They said their lines clearly, and spoke toward the audience most of the time. They did very well. At the same time, Alison, Timmy, and Gideon waited outside for them, and got good naps. Grandpa Mike and Grandma Sheila came over to Utah this week, so we were able to spend some time with them on Friday and Saturday. We watc
