Walnuts, an Expander, and Helicopter Training
At Mike's work they are finally (about a year after it was supposed to happen) releasing the product that he has been working on to production. It has been in the lower environments for a long time, but many of the other teams that were supposed to be integrating with them have taken significantly longer than was originally planned for. They will be releasing it piece at a time for the next 12 weeks or so.
Elsa liked playing with her friends Jay-Jay and Bethy this week. She says, "I didn't want to talk about it", so we will just leave it at that.
Elsa also liked playing with Jell-o (the cat) this week as well. She liked watching him chase easter eggs and eat food, and it was so cute.
Mike went out to get a English Walnut tree this week. Brock found it and scheduled the trip and the two of them went up and dug it out of the ground. The base of the trunk is 2 inches in diameter, so it is a few years old. Elsa, Gideon, and Timmy helped to plant it in the front yard.
We have been watering it every day so that it will not dry out. Its original leaves dried out, but it is putting out new leaf buds right now, so we think that it will survive.
We also have been watering the big box elder tree weekly, since it doesn't get water from the lawn anymore. Elsa wants to add that when it is not raining then it doesn't get water from the rain anymore.
The kids (mostly Timmy and Gideon) have been working on a garden in the back yard. Grandpa Craig came over to help plan it and we have cleared out all of the old growth and started to prepare the soil. We have plans to install a drip hose on a timer and plant seeds soon.
Rea got orthodontia this week. She might get braces in the future, but for right now she has an expander. She has to crank it every week to widen it, and it originally hurt a bit, but it doesn't hurt any more. That being said, it is very uncomfortable and she feels like it is always in the way and makes her talk weird.
She definitely does talk differently with it in.
She also got a new pair of glasses this week, which are a much better fit, and are larger. She says that she doesn't need to turn her head as much to see things, and that is good. She likes them a lot.
Elsa wants to make a musical band with Mike. She will be the singer and dancer, and Mike will play the drums.
Here are some pictures: Tim and Jello, The campfire from last week, and a cool block build.
