Yet another two weeks

Over the last two weeks we have had multiple sick people in our house. Timmy is mostly recovered, however, Gideon got sick and now Rea and Elsa are sick too. This is basically a constant thing I guess - someone is always sick. I suppose that it means that we are getting our immune systems stronger against all sorts of things.

Last weekend we went on a camping trip with the Plastows. They planned it and invited us, and it was really fun. We went up to a church owned camp ground and we played games and played in the pond that they had. There were a lot of water crafts and a zipline. We ended up going home a little early to go to Chauncy's birthday party (it was cancelled on account of sickness, but we didn't know that at the time.

One thing that Mike did while up there was to pick a bunch of elderberries and when we got home he made them into a elderberry syrup. With all of the sick people in the family it has come in handy. The stuff is really good to help with coughing.

Thursday Connect Ed started - Alison is teaching two classes, and Rea and Timmy are attending it.

This Friday as a family we all sat down and watched the movie of the play Hamilton. We did it in preparation for seeing the play Hamlet's son again. It was good to learn how all of the songs fit into the story. For those of you who haven't seen it the second half of the play can be quite depressing because Hamilton (the main character makes bad decisions and then ends up dying)

This Saturday we went to see Hamlet's Son again because it was closing night. They did incredibly well, and even though we enjoyed the play the first time it was even better the second time.

Today after church we went to Uncle Chauncey's birthday party. We played the Lord of the rings role-playing game that we have been playing together with them over the past year. It was really fun. Chauncey is an excellent dungeon master.

We tried to help the town recover from all of the chaos that resulted from Lord Gurno being eaten by a monster fish.

Sometime last week Michael woke up in the middle of the night and had the nugget of a song in his head, so over the course of the next couple hours he wrote it.

The song is going to be sung by his RPG character (probably) during our next play session. There was no time that seemed right for him to sing it during this play session, however, as the session went on it became more and more obvious that it was the perfect song to reach the hearts of certain people in the game so it's sort of funny how what he ended up writing also ended up being relevant to the game.

I guess the song is a little bit too silly to be exactly perfect, however, it should be pretty cool.

Rea and Sara have been attending play rehearsals quite often for their play. It is amazing that they have time to do that with their school as well, but they are both doing well, so I guess that it works out.

Timmy has also decided that he wants to add some Lego Trolls to his Lion Knight's castle, so he is currently looking into what that would take to do. He has found a few on bricklink, but they are pretty pricey. perhaps I will tell him to look at fake versions to save some money - they have some pretty real looking ones on etsy.
