Back on the Block

We forgot to post again last week, so here we are with another double post.

Not this week but the week before the garage door installers came over and installed a new garage door in our house. It looks pretty good and opens and closes very easily.

That week we also had the four-way inspection again and finally passed it. That opened up our ability to finish wrapping the house and also installing insulation.

We scheduled the insulation installation as soon as we could (Monday of this week).

Late last week we moved to the Waters house because they had gone to Africa and we wanted to be closer to our house and our Ward. It was great too stay at the Brown's house, however, it is also nice to have an entire house to yourself and to be able to walk to the park and church and our friend's houses.

Last Saturday we went to a wings of fire convention which is named fan wings fest. Everyone at the convention was interested in wings of fire series, and the author of the books was also in attendance and signed books took pictures and answered questions about the books.

We all had a lot of fun. The kids got signed copies of the first book and we also got an art book about how to draw the various dragons. We ate burrito bowls for lunch and spent most of the day at the convention.

But super tasty the burrito bowls were pricey, but super tasty Timmy notes.

The insulation guy was as good as his word, and had the entire house insulated in 3 days. We were incredibly impressed. The siding and roofing guys also finished their weather barrier stuff pretty quickly, however, the day that we scheduled the insulation of weather barrier tests they were still installing some drip panels.

We passed those two inspections on the first try, so now we are ready for sheetrocking and finishing up the exterior coverings of the house.

Girls camp this year was really fun, however, Sara also notes that it was tragic because her friend Alyssa did not get to go on her first year.

They went to a lake and to moo moo cow farm, which is also known as the America West heritage Center. The camp was Mario kart theme so they made cardboard cars and played games and them with balloons and it was really fun.

Timmy and Elsa both had their birthdays this week. Elsa got a giant squishmallow and a pink Squirtle that Rea made her.

Timmy says that his birthday was great. He also got some video games and a quibly dragon.

Since we passed the last inspections we scheduled the sheetrocking for Monday of this upcoming week. They seem to indicate that they will be pretty darn fast, so we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully it's not a train.

This week we also celebrated Juneteenth. We attempted to make the appropriate food and we talked about the ending of slavery in the United States. We had strawberry syrup over ice cream which was very tasty and we also had baked beans, cornbread, potato salad, and watermelon. Since we are on a budget right now we didn't have any meat however next year we plan on celebrating in a better way.

Gideon just got a new toy who is named slippy froggy. He is a squishmallow froggy, and Gideon says that he is his new best friend.

We also got windows and the doors that we got were half incorrect, so we had to return them and are now trying to figure out what to do about that. We don't want to wait forever to get doors again.
