It was a mighty duel.

The date was Saturday, March 24th 2012. The weather was warm - unseasonably warm - though the sky was overcast. Two ancient foes faced each other over the field of battle.
What led the world to such a place?
How did history choose this idyllic spacetime coordinate as the unsettling scene of what was to follow?
It must have been forechosen by the threads of the fates, for no mortal could have brought it about.

One contestant in this battle was a human male - young, skinny, and unassuming. The other - an abomination from the outer reaches of the imaginable, composed of metals, polyvinyl chloride, and fibrous organic substances.

The battle began in the morning, and lasted into the afternoon. First the rigid shell of the monster was extracted from the earth, and then the beast was attacked in it's own territory. The stump of a tree - long dead and rotting away was destroyed in the fight as well as a trowel.

Cubic feet of earth were thrown up into the air by the wild swinging of the blade wielded by the man, and showers of liquid were the reply of the beast. In the cross fire, a dog and a young child were helplessly caught, and they received all of the wrath of the beast (and all of the punishment that it was capable of inflicting upon them).

Their cries still echo in those barren fields.

Eventually, man triumphed over the beast, and order was restored to the landscape. Finally, the forces of this monster were tamed and set about their proper duties again.

We can only hope that the taming will last for a while yet.

After that. They all had to wash up because fixing the sprinklers is a dirty work.

The part about Andrea being caught in the crossfire is true. She walked right up to a sprinkler head as it was running, and stared at it as it was spraying her stomach. She was surprised by that, but not really bothered.

She has started to pluralize words (including some incorrect pluralizations such as geeses), use possessive nouns, count to 12 (though she has a hard time with four and five, often skipping one of them, and also six and seven as well) She loves watching birds flying around, and declares often that she wants to catch them and follow them. She loves eating the gummy fish that were recently given to her by her grandma, and will do all sorts of things for a gummy fish. She thinks that geese eat sycamore seeds, and also that hot dogs are actually made out of dogs. Additionally, she has an interesting understanding of the concept of 'heavy'. Anything that is difficult to carry is heavy to her (such as a huge handful of popcorn, or more flowers than her hands can hold.)

I have mostly finished up testing the Vassal Polynesia module. I am going to make another version, and then probably test it some more. Perhaps this weekend I will try to play against random people on the internet.
