Once there was a Tim

Image
Written and illustrated by Tim.  So we all got sick today and yesterday and the day before that. But I wasn't sick I was jumping, or for most of the time I wasn't sick. Gideon barfed twice, Booie barfed twice, Gideon's frogs barfed zero. It made it so we couldn't go to the great sleepover that we had planned. Gideon got baptized. My job was to look at him and see if he went fully under and if Dad messed up on the words. Most of the time we were sitting around listening to music and listening to talks, and then we got to see him get baptized. It was very great, and he got the gift of the holy ghost. We had ice cream at the end and then we played cows and Bob. When it was time to leave we hid from the adults.  We had open about five presents this week three of them were intentional: first we opened a gnome and we named him Logan, because that is the thing that you do. Then we open the greatest Christmas Pageant ever, and then we opened a muffin tin. And then we opened up ...

Catching back up

Image
We failed to write for a few weeks, so this is a big post to get caught back up. Three weeks ago we did Organized Simplicity on the front room. On Monday the 13th we took everything out of the room. It doesn't look like it has that much stuff in it, but it still took up half of the carpeted room and half of Mike's work room to hold all of the stuff. After cleaning out all the stuff we cleaned the room and Alison decided that she also wanted to paint the walls. We ended up painting it a yellowish white that matches the color of the Kallax. Painting took till Wednesday night, so we started moving things back in Thursday and we got it all back together by Friday. Mike marked some board games for disposal, and we also got rid of some art stuff. The room was re-arranged during the move, so we now have a cool new setup which gives us less horizontal furniture to put things on. Hopefully that works to keep the room cleaner. Boo's birthday was on the 15th. We ate fruit pizza and sh...

Concerning one Thursday

Image
This last week was pretty eventful - especially Thursday. The beginning of the week was pretty normal - killer hot, but otherwise not particularly remarkable. On Thursday morning Alison's phone stopped working, and upon opening it up, Mike discovered that the battery was bulging. Apparently we accidentally bought the exploding kind of phone for her, but it was a dud. Mike has lent her his phone, and with her sim card in his phone, we have tried to make things work out for the remainder of the week. We bought a new battery for the phone, but it will take a few days to get here, so until mid next week Mike will be without a phone. Later on in the day when she took the kids to the Dalyias house, Alison noticed that a bunch of lights on the car dash had all started lighting up at the same time. She drove the car home, and told Mike about it.She determined that it might be the alternator through google, and Mike called the mechanic Friday morning to see if we could bring it in right awa...

The First Real Snow of Winter!

We asked the kids to dictate some of the blog post: Timmy loved playing with dad this week. He also liked playing with a teapot and plates. Timmy and Sara like the snow that we got. Timmy liked getting doughnuts from Grandma Sheila Sara loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa. (Except Grandpa wasn't there.) Sara liked going sledding and playing with Grandma and Petra. Gideon, don't touch our buttons! Gideon loves everything, especially peas. And music. Rea's favorite thing this week was reading "Pollyanna" for the first time. Also, on Sunday she made tiny snowmen and pretended to be a Tyrannosaurus and ate them! They didn't have noses or eyes or mouths. Rea was also super excited for her Baptism Preview last Sunday. Rea will be baptized on November 3rd at 10am, for those who like to plan ahead :-). Mike has completed his second week of teaching CS 101 at BYU-Idaho. He has been having a fun time so far. He has also bought tickets to Salt Con (a...

The Whale Ride

Image
Last saturday we got Rea's bike working, so this week she rode it a lot. Sara has been reading a book every day to learn more about reading. We are hoping that if we do this enough she will start to like it. This week Timmy has been singing a lot of songs that he invented himself. Gideon will crawl across the whole house and play by himself now. That is fun. Alison attended her second League of Utah Writer's meeting this week. It was a write in at a coffee shop. She hadn't worked on writing at all since the last meeting, so it was fun to spend some time writing. On Thursday Mike's work had a summer party. We were all invited to Lagoon. We hung out in the water-park area for the first few hours, and then after dinner went on a bunch of kiddie rides. All in all it was a fairly fun time. The kids loved the whale ride the most. It was a bunch of whales that you sit in and go around a circle while bobbing up and down in a sine wave pattern. It was fun to see them h...
