In which Alison worries about people thinking that she put things in her armpit

Monday for Family Night Alison took charge of the lesson and made some new rules for our house:

  1. You are free to play outside when: your dishes are washed, and your toys are picked up.
  2. You are free to ask for breakfast when: your bedroom is clean and your bed is made.
  3. You are free to choose a bed time story when: your playroom is clean and your dishes are washed.

Rea has complained about the new rules but has done pretty well. Sara rarely picks up a toy, but she did wash her dishes without complaining two whole times. Overall it is keeping the house pretty clean.

Our microwave blew up and we went without a microwave for a while. That was pretty fun. Alison discovered many unique ways to heat things. One time we had a cold sandwich and she put it under her armpit (haha; see here).

Alison wants me to make sure that you understand that she didn't really do this. It was a reference to a comic strip.

Timmy liked the old microwave. It is still sitting in our front room on the floor because I haven't taken it outside yet and Timmy likes to climb on it.

On Wednesday we had a game night of the board game design group of Sandy. We played three games and had a fun time. Ryan seemed impressed by the 3d printed pieces, and he had good ideas for ways to change the games.

On Thursday we finished Rea's hammock (we made hammocks for the girls to sleep in), and on Saturday (late at night) we finished Sara's. So far Rea likes sleeping in her hammock and Sara is going to sleep in hers right now for the first time.

Friday was the first time that we dropped our kids off for the new babysitting exchange. We went to the temple and did sealings. Timmy cried the entire time (again) some day he will not cry for babysitters so that we can do an endowment session, but it hasn't happened yet.

We went to Grandma Sheila and Grandpa Mike's house two times this week as they invited us over for desserts as well as we invited them over for a water balloon fight and they counter-offered with a water balloon fight at their house. Their cabin finally closed, and their house is just about ready to be put on the market.

We have been packing for our trip to North Carolina and DC next week. Alison has been very busy getting ready. We have goat sitters and calling substitutes. If anyone wants to drive us to the airport Thursday morning at 7:00 AM in the morning, we would love a lift :).

Saturday we went to the DI to get a new microwave. We got one. We also went to the dollar store to get cheap junk for the girls airplane backpacks. We figure that that might help them to make it through the flights with less whining.

Finally, I have been trying to make turn counters for games with the 3d printer, but it started to act weird recently... I am still trying to figure that one out.
