Building the Shed

This last week on Monday the grandmas took Rea and Sara out to shop for new clothes for the summer. The girls bought a lot of clothing and seem to be happy with their purchases.

Monday evening we went over to grandpa Mike's house to start tearing down the shed that they are giving to us. We got the shelves all taken apart and then it was bed time. The kids helped out a lot, and we all had a fun time.

On Tuesday the kids all went over to the Poulson's house for a sleepover. They had a fun time at the Poulson's house for all of Tuesday and up until dinner time on Wednesday.
They went swimming twice because grandma's pool is open and they also made fairy or wizard wands with streamers and glitter glue.

Wednesday night we had our second activity dudes meeting where Mike showed the kids a Bill Nye the Science Guy video, and then we built models of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide, and then we manually performed the chemical reaction between the two of them.

The girls did a speed friend shipping activity where they got into pairs and asked each other getting to know you questions. It was a lot of fun.

Thursday night Alison and Mike went to get the walls of the shed (Grandpa Mike had taken the whole shed apart by himself, because he is super strong like that), and we dropped them off at the house. Thursday night we also had the Waters adults and Plastow adults come over and help move the pieces through the car port, which was the hardest part in my opinion. As the adults did that, the kids played.

Friday we sent our car to the car shop in order to get a trip check and we also worked on the shed in the evening. The kids didn't get to go to playgroup because of the car. Friday night we got the shed put entirely together with a lot of help from the Waters family. Getting the roof up on top was difficult but we were smart so we got it done.

Saturday Mike went to home depot and bought roofing material for the shed (we are putting on metal roofing with plastic skylights.) The store was so packed that it took hours to get all the things. We then cut the roof boards so that there were holes for the skylights and attached them to the shed.

We also planned on painting the shed five colors (one for each kid), and building a loft in it. We might even add some insulation and walls so that it is a bit more finished and easier to play in.

Sunday was a normal day at church, and we plan on going over to the Gutierrez's house for a game night.
