Good sleep

This week we... Certainly we did something.

Wednesday for Science Time we talked about the particulate nature of matter.  That was an interesting one.  Rea seemed to get it, though. She did, at one point tell me that particles are called atoms, so apparently we had talked about it before.

Thursday was Rea's birthday.  She requested homemade macaroni and cheese and asparagus for dinner, and chocolate cupcakes for dessert.  We at it as a picnic in the backyard.  She made little fairy decorations for the cupcakes, and she got some lovely presents: a kit to make flower fairies, a set of laminated paper dolls of horses and fairies, a coloring book, a toy Dalmation puppy, a doll with a dress modeled after Elsa, and Quints dolls.  It was a very fun day and she was very happy.

Saturday we went and picked apples from a neighbor of Amy's.  Amy told us the apples were falling off her tree, so we asked if we could pick some and clean up the ground for her.  It was fun.  Rea was quite a lot of help; the little kids slept most of the time, so we got a lot done.  We're doing dried apples and applesauce.  Yum.

Saturday evening was the Church fall activity: a trunk-or-treat and chili cookoff.  Mike took the kids around the trunks while Alison milked the goats.  Sara borrowed a Cinderella costume from Grandma Julie.  Rea made herself a pink peacock costume out of a blanket and a sparkly pink skirt.  Timmy had a knight's tabard that Alison found at the DI.  The girls each got a bag of candy; Sara ate hers within twenty-four hours, and Rea's still rationing hers out.  Timmy got three pieces; he refused to try to say "Trick or Treat" or even "Boo!" so he didn't get much.  We took acorn muffins to the chili cookoff, but they ended up on the dessert table, so some people were probably very disappointed.  The chili was excellent.

We made another brie on Saturday. We only half salted it on time, so perhaps it will be a weird brie.

For family night this week, we decided to reestablish our individual goals so we could earn goal day parties again.  It took a long time, but now we all have physical, spiritual, mental, and social/emotional goals written down.  We are looking forward to our parties.

I also worked a lot on my Sorcery cards last week. They look pretty good. I am hoping to prepare MOAR MOAI, Sorcery, and Polynesia for the ION Award this year. Perhaps I will even win :). I have also been printing a lot of moai in different colors, so I will be ready to test moar moai again soon.

Finally, Timmy likes to say 'boo', and slept through the night two whole entire times last week. Isn't that amazing?
