Lazy-Mike Blueberry Pie

Monday was Memorial day, and so we had a Memorial day barbecue. We invited all of my siblings over, but only Scott and Max could come over (Sheila and Petra were having a nap, and everyone else was busy and or didn't answer).

Even though we didn't have a huge amount of people, it was still fun. The kids all played bopping games with pool noodles, and ran around.

We had hamburgers, ribs, hot dogs, barbecued pineapple, watermelon, lazy blueberry pie, veggiekabobs, and chips and home made humus. everyone seemed to enjoy the food. It was really fun.

I really wanted blueberry pie, but didn't want to work hard to make it, so I invent a new recipe. Put it in your recipe book:

Lazy-Mike Blueberry Pie
1) Buy a pre-cooked graham cracker crust.
2) Cook a Danish dessert (boil 1 3/4 cups water on the stove, add 1 box danish dessert mix, boil for a minute.)
3) Pour blueberries and danish dessert in to pie crust. Two cups of blueberries should do.
4) Chill it for two hours.
5) Serve out of pie tin. Serves one or more.

This week Timmy has started to say full sentences of a decent level of complexity. One example is when he said (as he was climbing up on Alison's lap) "Me sit momma's lap". It is great to have him able to express himself. He loves talking so much. He also loves talking to the baby in mommy's tummy and especially giving it zerberts.

This week Rea also rode a 2 wheeler bike for the first time. She is doing a good job, and enjoying riding a big kids bike. She is much faster on a bike with training wheels, but she likes being so big that she can ride a 2 wheeler.

Sara likes to check the garden every day to see if anything new has grown. She also is very interested in reading, and helps clean up a lot.

I finished up my kid's bank web application this week as well (which can install on your phone as a phone app if your phone is an android phone). It is available here. It is used as a piggy bank replacement, since the kids always keep losing their money.

Alison and I also started up another blog about our suburban homesteading efforts. We are going to try to monetize it, so if anyone has ideas about how to do that, we'd love to hear them. For the interested, the blog is here.
