Gotta go thru it

On Monday during the day Mikes new team at work went to an indoor shooting range for a team building activity. Mike shot four guns, and did the best with the handguns. If you are a thief, and within 7.5 yards of Mike, and he has a hand gun, say goodbye to the right half of your neck.

Monday night we went on a hike at the Bell Canyon Granite Trailhead. We hiked up to the reservoir and decided that we were going to go camping there some time. Rea was pretty grouchy the entire way up, but Timmy and Sara and Gideon had a grand time. Once we got there, we saw some ducks, and then we decided to turn back. Rea and Gideon switched places as the grouchy one, and the entire trip back Gideon screamed, and Timmy, Sara and Rea had a fun time.

We have since expanded our plans for a camp out to include actual shopping for a camp stove that is small enough to backpack with. We will probably not carry up our water, so we need filters as well as ways to attach our hammocks to trees. It will probably happen when the summer starts to get warmer.

Wednesday, Alison and the kids went to the museums at Thanksgiving Pointe. Rea and timmy traded some bones that they found for a gastropod shell (Rea) and a shark tooth (Timmy). They also got to ride ponies. Gideon was scared. Sara was scared, but rode anyway, but Gideon wanted to be taken off of the pony immediately.

On Wedneday, Alison also found some cheese at $2 a lb at macies (it was expiring, not that that means anything with cheddar.) We bought 20 lbs of it. It was a good deal. Wednesday night Timmy chose smash bros as his date night, so Timmy, Sara, Gideon and Mike played smash bros for a while.

Thursday we had our first Easterval Party. Basically, we have decided that we are Catholic because they celebrate Easter for two months. Other than that, we are still Mormon. Rea wanted to plan the party, so she found recipes from a book and made them herself. We invited several friends that couldn't come, however the Dalyia family came. Now that Rea is so old it is harder to plan things with her public school friends. She was happy with how it turned out anyway.

Thursday night we instituted a new family tradition of once a week housekeeping night, where we all work together half an hour on something that needs doing on the house. This week we did the bathroom and the old 3d printer room, which the kids like to leave things in. To celebrate our hard work we had cake for dessert.

As our date night, Alison and Mike started re-reading a story that we haven't read for a while. It was fun. The kids listened in, and were very interested.

On Saturday for Morning Movement we cleaned the goat shed and spread the straw all over the back yard. It took until 11:00, and we didn't finish as much as called it a day so that we could make lunch. We made a huge quiche for lunch with our chicken eggs, and cheeses and some sausages and asparagus (we have been eating a lot of asparagus lately because it is great.)

After that, we went on some shopping trips, and our car went out of control and somehow took us into the drivethru at dairy queen. We had to buy an ice cream to get out of the drive thru, so we ate that. It was a busy but fun day.

Sunday we played at least five games of Robots on the Line (because Timmy and Sara really like it).

Finally, the kids have been getting unusually muddy this week, and in the last two days they have had 3 baths each.
