Salt Con
Sunday we had a game day with Caitlin, Sal, and the Fords. We played Secrets, Lords and Ladies, and Spyfall. Lords and Ladies was very fun. The other two were god as well, but the couples teams and disparity of the different parts of the game made for a fun game. We tied for first and lost the tie.
Monday we had family night with ice cream after a huge team clean.
Tuesday we had T-bone steaks for dinner because Alison was feeling like she needed meat.
Wednesday we packed for SaltCon & had Timmy's date night (cookies and a wild Kratts)
Thursday we went to SaltCon. We got a bunch of games in the Math trade, played a bunch of games including Azul (which was Alison's favorite game of the convention), and the kids checked out a bunch of games too. We also swam in the pool.
Friday we had a free "fancy" breakfast at the hotel. We played Root (which was Mike's favorite game of the convention - it was like Redwall as a board game). We went swimming, and then played a bunch more games (including 7 Wonders Duel (which was pretty good)). We ran into one of Mike's former co-workers (who is always at SaltCon), and we also played One deck Dungeon and Escape from Zombie City (which was pretty good despite the theme (Alison even liked it, and she hates Zombies with a passion)).
While we were doing all the adult games, the kids were watching movies and movies. We even stayed up late (which is a big thing to do when you are polyphasic). We also were eating a bunch of weird food (according to Rea), which included sandwiches and cheetos.
Saturday the kids and Alison went swimming while Mike packed up and vacated the room. After that we went to the convention for the remainder of the con. Mike bought Glory to Rome (which is a rare game by Carl Chudyk that he found for $66, but is usually more like $100-200) Mike is a huge Carl Chudyk fanboy, and this is his first game, and one that is the most in his style. Mike is super excited to play it. We also played Takenoko, which was too light to be very fun unless you were pretty sleepy. When the kids got whiny we went home and got pizza for dinner, and then went to bed.

Here are all the games that we got at the con:
- Flashpoint (a fireman game that the kids can play with the adults)
- Near and Far (an excellent roleplaying game that Mike helped playtest)
- Castle panic (a cooperative defense game)
- Two rooms and a Boom (because it was super cheap)
- Glory to Rome
- Grifters (a hand management game)
- Santorini (a abstract game that feels like chess, but with variable player powers)
- Friday (a solo Robinson Crusoe game)
- Three to Four headed monster (Timmy picked this one up - a social deduction game)
- Igloo Pop (a guessing game for the kids which Timmy picked up as well)
Gideon also spent all his money that he has ever gotten on a bunch of dice. It was a fun purchase, and he loves dice.
On Sunday morning it snowed, and we got ready for church. In the afternoon Mike did his calling, and he played Friday with Timmy.
