Oops, We're Late

We had lots of warm weather this week. The kids have been loving being outside for long periods. Inside, though, they have been argumentative and grumpy. It got so bad that when they finally started playing nicely together on Thursday, we canceled everything we had planned and just let them play as a reward. But we eventually decided that everyone needs more sleep in order for things to go well, so we're overhauling our bedtime routine. We're going to try to put each child to bed separately, so bedtime will take at least four times as long as it does now. If it means that everyone gets enough sleep to be reasonable during the day, it will be worth it.

The kids thought this was an excellent week because we saw the Dalyais every day except Sunday. Monday they came to our house for a Carnival party; Tuesday we all went to nature group; Wednesday we have the Dalyais' nature group and Thursday is ballet taught by one of the older Dalyai girls; Friday Faith Dalyai had a birthday party at the park and we were invited; Saturday the kids had a "late over" at the Dalyais' house and got to play and watch a movie in the evening. This made the week very exciting for the kids.

Mike and Alison got a date (with just the baby around) during that late over; we cooked a fancy meal for ourselves (chicken cordon bleu with asapragus) and read aloud. It was fun. Mike wants to make homemade chicken cordon bleu someday. We didn't have time this time, but we observed and discussed possibilities.

Saturday morning the kids and Mike went to the park and played Pokemon Go and picked rosehips while Alison did the quarterly bulk shopping at Winco. Then Mike made rosehip jelly and the kids put on a bike show.

Today we are actually having a game day; even though Jae's family is sick again, we are going to Caitlin and Sal's house. We have talked to them about investing in the past, and we will probably discuss it again, as well as playing games. We are excited.

Alison is still working hard on her business. She's getting a clearer idea of her plan for the next few months and is making progress with implementing trainings and getting things together. Her goal is to advertise and run a free challenge the first week of April to teach people about her concepts, and then hopefully sell a course to the challenge members.
