Pumpkin moon

This last week was hard to remember, however, here are the things that we do remember:

Over the past couple weeks Mike has been fixing up the ghost music box that we purchased on eBay, and it is now working perfectly well. He lubricated it and reassembled it slightly tighter and he also printed some new ghosts to spin around on top. He found some magnets that had smooth slightly curved bottoms and printed holes in the bottom of the ghost figurines that match the size of the magnets so the magnets can be wedged into the bottom of the figurines which makes them spin around in a way very similar to how the original ghost did. Mike's ghosts are slightly larger than the originals, however they spin around slightly better than the originals.

Mike also 3d printed a bunch of dragons, since Logan wanted some for one of his school projects, and then Timmy and Boo wanted some too.

On Saturday morning the Poulson's invited us over to see the pumpkin races that were going on in the lake near their house. All of the competitors dressed up in Halloween costumes and rowed the pumpkins like they were kayaks. It was entertaining.

At the same time as the pumpkin races there was also a solar eclipse going on. Given that we were too far north we couldn't actually see the entire thing, however we had solar eclipse glasses and periodically looked up at the Moon partially blotting out the Sun.

That evening Grandma Sheila and Grandpa Mike invited us over to have some hours at their house. We sat in their backyard and roasted marshmallows over their fire pit and had chocolate and graham crackers. It was very good! We really appreciate having so much family nearby.

Sunday we went to pick walnuts from the house in our neighborhood that has a large walnut tree in the front yard. They have given us permission to pick the one that's whenever we want since they don't have to clean them up if we take them. Last time we picked them we got quite a few pounds of nuts and this year we got slightly fewer but it looks like there are still lots of nuts to fall.

Also, over the last few years Alison and Mike have been slowly playing through pandemic legacy. Early on in the game we played one game where we lost terribly through severely bad luck, and it turned Alison off to the game for quite a while. Finally Mike got her to play it again and we have been slowly and steadily finishing it since then. We just got through our second to last month of the game which means that we probably will finish it before the end of the year. Last game we did exceedingly well and completed a massive objective in one game that we thought would take us two. We are excited to see how the game ends.
