Allah or Nothing

This week Rea and Sara have been going to play practices every night. It is cool that they are in a play, however, this week has been very busy.

Tuesday Sara was asked to try out for the play "Lore of the Rings" which the obt is putting on next. She was a little nervous, but did very well, and had a fun time.

On Wednesday Mike went to do service at the cannery. He helped box jars of pasta sauce, and brother Payne was there too. That old guy is an inspiration with his active he is at his age.

We also had people come over to look at our house in preparation for the addition, and none of them showed up at the right time. It was frustrating for Mike, since they kept pulling him out of meetings that he was needed for. Either way, they got us out initial architectural drawings, which we asked for changes to, since there were two parts that we wanted changed.

Rea and Sara's play had is opening night on Friday, so we all went to see it with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Sheila.

They did well and the play was fun. It was based on Oklahoma!, so the story story of followed that.

Elsa liked the "go to the lobby" song the best.

Gideon says that he also liked it best too.

To explain the song, it had a guy dressed up as popcorn and a bunch of kids dressed up as seagulls. The popcorn sang to the audience that they should go to the lobby and the seagulls bothered him, trying to eat his popcorn.

Timmy liked the song "Allah or Nothing", which was a parody of "All or Nothing".

Sara refuses to answer what her favorite part of the play was, and I don't know where Rea is, and Alison didn't answer when I asked her, so I'll say my favorite part next: I also liked "Allah or Nothing", however I also like an ad libbed part that happened because of a prop error - the actors do a good job reacting to mistakes and keeping the play moving along even if there is a mistake.

On Friday Sara also got an email indicating that she got the part of "Frollo" in the play, which is a major speaking part (this plays equivalent of Frodo). She is excited about it, and it's the only Hobbit to be played by a kid, so here's hoping that she does well.

Finally, Elsa wants me to add that Gideon loves penguins, which he vehemently denies. As a rejoinder, Gideon says that Elsa likes frogs, which she also rejects as untrue. While I wrote this, they made up and are now hugging and both blowing raspberries at Timmy, so it's one of those days.
