Busy, Busy, Busy 2: Electric Boogaloo

Elsa wants to start out this post by saying that she loves cats, and that Gideon loves penguins. Gideon ran into the room after she said that and told me to erase it, and that I should add that Elsa likes frogs. This is like a feeling of Déjà vu.

This Tuesday we dropped off Jello at his neuter appointment in the morning. He was gone most of the day (Rocket was very sad about this) and in the evening we got him back home. He was famished because they didn't let him eat food all day, so he vigorously attacked his food when we gave him his quarter portion. They said that we could feed him normally on Wednesday. He has been recovering ever since, however, he acts pretty much normal. He only tried to lick the wound one time, and then gave up when we put the cone on him for a little bit.

Between plays, play practices, gymnastics, activity dudes, school, and meetings with students, this was a very busy week. On Friday Rea and Sara  stayed up late for their play, Saturday morning Sara had practice first thing, and then went home, ate lunch, and then was out at the theatre till ten at night. Rea was there for all of it except the practice, so she was pretty busy too.

Elsa also wants to add that her new pokemon (which is really a bakugan) which aunt Amy gave her is really cool.

Thursday night Rea decided to jump down the three steps into our playroom, and hit her head on the ceiling really hard. We got her ice and eventually she stopped crying enough to take some ibuprofen. When that kicked in and she could talk, she said her eyes felt like they were jiggling and she couldn't stop them, and Alison noticed her hand was twitching uncontrollably. It was 8 at night, so we deliberated a bit, but Alison finally decided she wasn't going to sleep unless they got it checked out, so they went to the nearby Urgent Care. The doctor said she had a mild concussion and needed to take it easy; if she got headaches, she was doing too much and needed to stop. She spent all day Friday resting and didn't act in the play that night. By Saturday, she was feeling enough better to go to the matinee performance, stay at the pizza party the cast has between shows, and do the evening performance. She feels all the way better today.

Rea was especially concerned about being well by the Saturday matinee because Grandma Julie, Grandpa Craig, Aelfric, and Victoria came! They had tickets for Becky and Chauncey and Ellie, but they weren't able to come at the last minute. So they gave the tickets to our neighbors the Waters, which was fun too. The girls had a great time performing for us. Mike and I sat by the Waters girls, who are old enough to actually sit quietly for a whole performance, so we got to hear everything this time, which was fun.

Rea and Sara are now taking the train to the theater by themselves. Alison drops them off at the stop near our house, and they ride the blue line to the end of the line, which is Draper Central, less than half a mile from the theater. That means that Alison only has to drive down there once a day, and she gets to be home with Mike and the other kids on performance nights. It's very nice. The girls have Farepay cards so they don't need to buy tickets, just tap on/tap off. And we just got a flip phone for them to carry with them just in case. They are very excited about that. (The Tracfone ebay store has some very good deals on phones+minutes, and it was nice to get a flipphone that is less likely to get broken.)

Alison is feeling a bit worn out by everything that's going on. We're glad that there's only two more weeks of Utahoma so we can all get a break. But with Lore of the Rings, it'll still be pretty busy. At least Rea will get a break, and it won't be every night for Sara. She's double-cast in the play, so she'll only have to be at every other performance, too. So hopefully March and April will only be middling busy, and we won't be doing ANYTHING extracurricular in May.

We finalized the plans for our home addition, and as soon as we plan a kickoff party, we'll get started. They expect to need us out of our house for four weeks in June or July, so we need to plan for that. With any luck, it'll be done before the next school year really gets started. It's very exciting! We should bring the plans to all our next family gatherings and show them off.
