Monkeys and Meeples and Sleep Deprivation, Oh My!

This week Timmy has woken us up way too many times. It is like he has no respect for sleep.

On Tuesday the kids and Alison went to the Zoo. Rea and Sara both loved the dinosaur birds the best. Apparently, some scientists have decided that Utah Raptor was heavily feathered, so the zoo had a new feathery Utah Raptor. Timmy liked the elephants best.

Timmy has been playing peekaboo with people, and saying "Boo!" a lot this week.

On Wednesday Timmy had his 15 month check up. Alison was a little worried that the doctor would be concerned that he's not walking yet, but the doctor watched him walk holding on to Alison's hands and realized that he's capable of walking, he just doesn't choose to, so no worries. That's nice. Apparently his language development is right on target, although it's so far behind where the girls were at this age. He'll get his next shots when we get the not-sleeping-through-the-night thing worked out.

On Friday, Alison's parents were in Richfield, so Alison took the kids to meet a homeschooling group at the park. They all had fun. Andrea loved the Jedi game all the kids played together, and Alison loved watching all the kids, boys and girls ages 6 months to 9 years, playing together.
Rea wanted me to print her some monkeys this week. Alison assumed that she wanted a monkey card game, but she really wanted 3d printed monkeys. I made 6 big blue 'barrel of monkeys' monkeys, which are very popular with the kids. I could make any quantity of them if we needed more. Timmy especially loves them, and gets excited every time he sees them hooked to each other.

For our date night we started watching Star Wars Episode 1 so that we can see them all before the new one comes out (we might not make it, but we are going to try.) It made us want to read Darths and Droids again.

On Saturday we made Granola and acorn bread. The acorn bread didn't turn out very well, but the granola is pretty popular.

Derek, Heather's brother-in-law asked me to make him some Dinosaur Meeples. I hadn't considered 3d printing meeples, but I tried it out, and it worked out pretty well. Perhaps I will add custom meeples to my website, and start printing them up for other people.

Also, I took the girls on a date to the store while Timmy was napping and brought home a new sieve for straining kefir. Our old one had loose wires that stabbed and cut your hands when you washed it, so Alison really liked the new one.

I asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up.
Rea: grow up to be a mommy
Sara: grow up to be a princess
Timmy: did not answer, but instead ate smoothie.

Now, some random things:
