Nuts and Pokémon

This week, Alison started going to a class at the kids' school. Parents and other adults are invited to come and do the free Science of Well-Being class that's been put online by a Yale professor. This is a topic Allison is interested in, and she's been working on getting out of her comfort zone and interacting with people, so it seemed like a good idea. The first class was fun.

Rea and Sara have been going to rehearsals for their play multiple times this week. It is a pretty long drive for Alison to drop off and take them back, so she is planning on teaching them how to take the bus there. They have been enjoying the rehearsals and are excited to perform in the play.

We invited to Buck and his wife over to eat dinner with us this week because they helped us so much in the process of getting back into our house. It was nice to have them over and to talk with them.

Various members of our family have been getting sick on various days this last week. Seems like it's a mild cold that is going around, so it's fortunately not too bad.

Friday when Mike got off work, he picked almonds for 3 and 1/2 hours. He ended up picking just about 50 gallons of almonds in the husk. Saturday and today he husked them (shucked them?) and they are all sitting out on our outdoor table to dry now. The process of husking them removed 35 gallons of material, so in shells we have about 15 gallons of nuts left. Once we crack all the nuts open Mike estimates, we might have one to two gallons of nut meat left.

On Saturday we had an open house to the members of our Ward and anyone else who wanted to come see our house. We ended up having a moderate number of people show up and look through and see how it was reorganized in the home addition.

While we were having the open house Grandma Sheila and Grandpa Mike came over and delivered to us watermelons and cookies and also some cool Legos. They are actually knock off Legos, but they are cute little Pokémon figures and cool dinosaurs.

I also discovered this photo in our photo roll for this week which is the photo that Timmy took in order to get his bus pass, so if you want to put it on your fake ID you can look like Timmy.
