Everybody loves Jello

Last Sunday Grandpa Mike have the kids rocks and arrowheads to sell. They are excited to try and make some money (Timmy wants me to add the following emoji 💰 🤑)

Wednesday the kids made a kraken theme park ride, which had lights, a camera and sound system and a moving box when you got attacked by the kraken. 

Thursday the trains were delayed, so going to Rea's class was harder than usual. When they got there Rea did a speech about book binding, which went well.

Elsa wants to add that Jello is so cute and fluffy and cuddly warm, and Gideon wants to add that he likes to play in a box.

Friday we got back our wayward minivan, which hadn't broken down again yet.

Friday we went ice skating. Timmy said it was great. We started timidly, however by the end we were all pretty proficient. Timmy made it to the center of the rink, and was happy about that. Elsa borrowed a ice seal that helped her not fall down. They named it sealio. It is sort of like a baby walker.

We all had a fun time, and Timmy said he wants to come back again.

On Saturday we played games at Caitlin and Sal's house. The kids had fun playing with their cousins and raya played games with the adults. We played treasure island, hues and cues, a time travel chicken game, and an apples to apples game but with bar charts instead.

It has been a while since we got together with them, and it was very fun.

Mike, Timmy, and Gideon have been playing Stardew Valley. They are having a fun time. Timmy is excited to get chickens in the game. He wants to name them Dot and Pixel.

Another week has passed. Alison got a new bike this week. She is trying to figure out how to bike around four kids, and was hoping that having a bike with a higher seat would allow her to attach a trail-a-bike to it, which would mean that she could carry two kids along behind her on her bike. It doesn't seem like it is going to work, however, and she might end up just hauling the kids in the bike trailer like in previous years. Wednesday was Rea's date night. She chose to have a fire, read books, and have a dessert. It was fun. This week Rea and Sara went to theater camp to prepare for a play that they put on on Saturday. It was The ugly duckling. They said their lines clearly, and spoke toward the audience most of the time. They did very well. At the same time, Alison, Timmy, and Gideon waited outside for them, and got good naps. The End of Summer

We almost missed writing last week! Here is a quick summary of what happened. Gideon has graduated to wearing underwear. We are very proud of him, even though he is still wetting the floor. This last week was the first week of our homeschool. Alison made the girls planners and special school boxes, and they've been enjoying doing school every day. Timmy is very jealous of their stuff, and Gideon wants to be the center of attention during school time, so Alison is still working the kinks out. But everyone is excited for the new school year. The pool was closing this weekend, so Alison and the kids went swimming every single day. It made for a busy week, but it was very fun. Sara and Rea can both swim independently, and Timmy and Gideon are very brave to play in the water. We enjoyed our pool season immensely. Posted late because we forgot to hit post

On Monday we went and made a fire in Crestwood Park and we had hot dogs and cooked s'mores. We usually do this activity on Thursday in memory of Jesus in The garden of gethsemane, however this time we did it on Monday because it was the only day of the week that we had enough time for the activity. The fire went well enough apart from some local busy-bodies telling us that open fires were not permitted in the park (which, our fire wasn't open because it was inside of one of the fire boxes that are provided by the park). Tuesday we had our last supper, which is usually on Wednesday. Since this year we learned that it is not appropriate to make a meal similar to a Passover if you're not Jewish we instead made unleavened pizzas and drink grape juice and had haroseth. On Wednesday we watch Prince of Egypt and talked about the Passover. Thursday we played clean up your own backyard in memory of how Jesus cleansed the temples.
