The Nobility and Kindness of Man

This week we had so many sick people. We just can't seem to get rid of it. Sunday night Rea threw up again (for the last time), but by the morning she was feeling a lot better, so we went out to the hot springs and sat around all day soaking in the warmth.

After that Rea, Gideon, Tim, and then Alison got sore throats, so looking back at it, that might not have been the best idea. Gideon's eye also swelled up and was itchy for some reason, but we gave him some antihistamine eyedrops and the swelling went down.

Anyway, Tuesday we built Legos for New Year's Eve and watched Lego elf movies.

Wednesday was New Year's Day, and we had been invited to Kaitlyn and Sal's house for games, but since everyone was sick we stayed home.

We played Dog Man the board game, which was pretty fun. We liked getting shrink rays and everyone was able to understand the game and enjoy it.

On Thursday people were mostly feeling better so we went to Alyssa's birthday party at the waters house. They had pizza and cake and we threw paper darts at balloons and sang karaoke. We had a fun time (although Alison didn't attend due to her sickness)

On Friday Alison took the girls to the park and the car broke down on the way to pick them up. We had to push it through the intersection in rush hour traffic to get it to a place where we could park it for the tow truck to take it.

Mike started pushing and was having a really hard time, but three guys jumped out of nearby cars and helped him, and we got it across. It was a little things, but in the moment it meant a lot to Mike, since he was praying for help.

We had to get a tow truck, and the car is currently in the shop, so we are borrowing Grandpa Mike's truck.

This week Rea also made doll shoes for her doll. They look good, and fit the doll well.

Sunday was 12th night, so Saturday we took all the kids to the grocery store to buy $5 worth of groceries each. We made a meal out of what we bought, which was very random, but was fun.

Dessert was chocolate cupcakes and Elsa got the crown and picked to watch the Grinch movies for our 12th night celebration.

Elsa also wants me to add that she had to babysit the dog when Mike went to pick up the girls and it wasn't fun.

Mike has also been buying things at various local auctions for our house. We have a new toilet, two new fans, and an accordion door for the closet. He is still hoping to get a new desk, but they have never ended up the right price as of yet.

We also have finally gotten finished plans for the house, so we can have the next people look at them and make plumbing, structural, electrical and hvac plans.

Mike also starts a new semester tomorrow, so his lazy mornings are over now.
